Coal Fire and Ice- Nat Geo Special *featured article*

I am a huge National Geographic fan and idolise everything they do. So as soon as I saw there was a live stage show, featuring some of their talented and very lucky explorers, I jumped at the chance to buy tickets to the show.

National Geographic LIVE featuring talks about previous exhibitions and explorations, David Doubilet let us into his adventurous world as an underwater diver/marine photographer. Sharing stories with us from his amazing adventures to the deep dark depths of all kinds of bodies, from Papa New Guinea, to Antarctica waters, to his home town waters of the Gulf of St Lawrence. He has encounter some very unique moments with rare marine animals, not always pleasant, but David's love and passion for the underwater world showed he has never felt threaten by these animals. Discovering this world below the surface is a very rare experience, and David has been able to capture some amazing photographs, but he is also discovering the impact climate change and human behaviour has on the eco system that lives beyond the land including declining numbers of harp seals and buluga whales and the loss of beautiful coral systems.

If you want to hear and see more from National Geographic LIVE, Bryan Smith an extreme film maker is coming to Melbourne on October 4 to share his stories experienced on extreme adventures and how he is able to capture such thrill seeking moments.
